Book Review: Dream a Little Dream
3,5 stars for Dream a Little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher.

So far I have read all physical books written by Giovanna Fletcher and even though she might not be competing with my favourite authors yet, I am always fond of reading her stories. Aside from treating us to gorgeous covers over and over again; Fletcher is a clever author who is constantly improving herself and gets better on the go.
As much as I've enjoyed her previous stories, I found Billy and Me predictable, and You're The One That I Want slightly cliché. However, Dream a Little Dream is different. It was new, fresh and original, and I've really enjoyed it.
Sarah has an incredible group of friends, even if that means having to be around her ex-boyfriend and his perfect girlfriend. Of course she's fine, of course she doesn't mind at all...
She might pretend to be perfectly fine with everything she has in life, only she isn't.
When she starts dreaming about a handsome stranger, she soon starts to prefer fiction over reality.
That is until both worlds unexpectedly crash into each other and the man she has been dreaming about appears in her life.
Is Sarah willing to give this man a chance or is she so obsessed with the man out of her dreams that she isn't interested in allowing anyone to become to man of her dreams?
I found Sarah an absolutely delightful character to read about. She was perfectly balanced in all her quirky traits and flaws. The fact that she has an amazing circle of friends that anyone would be jealous of or can relate to, helped a lot.
They had a great dynamic and it read incredibly easy. There's a certain art in writing about day to day stuff and making it enjoyable to read. I always returned to this book with pleasure but I wasn't yet reluctant to put it down.
That was until Real Brett showed up and soon enough I was completely engrossed int he story and eager to find out more. The constant banter between Sarah and Brett never failed to put a smile on my face and added real charm to the story. Brett was perfect in many ways; his cheek and wit were complimented by his honest and sweet behaviour at other times.
He swept me off my feet with ease and I was sold much quicker than Sarah was.
Once Real Brett appeared the story also picked up some gumption on the way. Sarah grows as a character as does her group of friends who stand strong as a group, even when they are faced with both celebrations and disasters.
This book kept you guessing; whenever you thought you were sure of how the road would be from now on, there'd be a little surprise or small twist to keep it interesting. It is exactly that what made this book, in my opinion, her best worked out story yet.

And yes, her job as a PA to one of the most disgusting men in London is mind-numbingly tedious and her career is a constant disappointment to her mother. But it's really okay. She's happy (ish).
